Yesterday Instagram went live on their stories for the very first time. On a very casual and not produced fashion, co-founder and CEO Kevin Systrom invited actor KingBach to chat live, with a split screen on Insta stories.
They have announced that feature a few months ago, but now it’s live. The best part is that it’s available to everyone, not just accounts with a certain number of followers, like the so desired stories swipe up feature.
This is how it works, on Instagram’s own words:
“Simply tap the new icon on the bottom right and then tap “Add” to invite anyone who’s currently watching. Once they join, you’ll see the screen split into two and your friend will pop up right below you.”
Except, the icon on bottom right should be two little smiley faces (what they refer to new icon above). You may have to update your app.
This new feature will change how brands can interact to their customers, do Q&As and create more interactive content, instead of the “selfie videos” that when done too often can be frowned upon (unless you’re a celebrity or cute pup).
Keep an eye out to see how we will use this new feature with guests to give you more Instagram tips at Your Social Team, starting this week.
See you on the ‘gram!
